Tedesco

Our parents, Michele and Carolina Tedesco, arrived in Canada from Italy in June,1957 as a young married couple with a small child seeking a better life.

Despite having limited funds and almost no command of the English language, they were rich in boundless fortitude. Through the dint of hard work and the unyielding principles of loyalty to family, humility, discipline and self-sacrifice, our parents settled in Toronto and raised eight children with those humble immigrant values.

At home, Mom was the vital glue that held us all together, tirelessly managing a busy household while Dad was an indefatigable force working construction jobs to support us. Together they set the path for a prosperous future. A decade after arriving in Canada, Dad bought his first 955-H front-end loader and Michael Bros. Excavating & Grading was born.

As our family grew and flourished, so did Michael Bros. A family owned and operated business – that almost 60 years later remains a construction industry leader – was created by our parents and remains inextricably tied to our collective identity.

Over the course of time, Mom and Dad continued to infuse in us their timeless wisdom and common-sense perspective. Although Dad passed away in 2004, their lifelong tutelage is our rich inheritance. It has shaped how we treasure family and friends, value hard work, respect and embrace our Italian heritage while appreciating the privilege of being Canadian.

To Mamma e Papa, heartfelt gratitude and eternal love from your family.
